Throwback Thursday Highlights – Maestro Fresh Wes

Say hello to Canada's hip hop godfather

Canada’s hip hop Godfather Maestro Fresh Wes stopped by for a Throwback Thursday this week. Fresh Wes was the first Canadian rapper to hit top 40 for his single “Let Your Backbone Slide” in 1989. He’s been a longtime advocate of growing a local hip hop scene, and paved the way for many young Canadian rappers to come. Fresh Wes has worked with artists such as Sam Roberts and Kardinal Offishall.
