Tom DeLonge of Blink-182 Left the Band to Hunt for UFOs

Former guitarist investigates while the new Blink-182 video arrives

Former Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge left the band in pursuit of alien life in the early months of 2015. With the band now in his rear view, Tom is digging deep in the hopes of communicating with other life forms. He assures that this is no joke, touring several months out of the year was taking away from the time he could have been spending finding something (or someone) that he says has the opportunity to change the world. He told Mic:

“Dealing with something that’s a national security issue, and you’re being gifted with the opportunity to communicate something you’ve been passionate about your whole life — something that has the opportunity to change the world over time — being a small part of that is enormously important for my life path.”

Tom is moving away from one art form to another with his cross-platform, multimedia project dubbed Sekret Machines: a collection of novels, comics and videos of real-life encounters along with some sci-fi flair. The new venture looks to have a hold on his creative spirit indefinitely.

Not to worry, the remaining Blink-182 members have soldiered on with their seventh studio album California, due July 1. Here’s their latest video for the lead single, “Bored to Death.”
