Prepare to have your first taste of summer next week as Toronto is expected to be hit with its first heat wave of the year. But before you start unpacking your shorts from your winter storage, be sure to find your best umbrella, because the heat is going to be accompanied by…you guessed it, rain.
This weekend will see a high of 23 degrees and a mix of showers. Monday and Tuesday will see the first heat spike, reaching up to 29 and 31 degrees, respectively. With the humidex, it could even feel up to 40 degrees next week

But don’t get your hopes up for high temperatures all summer long. Meteorologists say that this summer as a whole is going to be cooler than average, albeit with more humidity.
That being said, when the heat hits, make sure you cool off at your local ice creamy.
