Toronto to Host The 2017 NHL Winter Classic

Oh the good ol' hockey game!

Multiple news outlets are reporting that our Toronto Maple Leafs will be hosting the 2017 winter classic game. For those who are thing “wtf is the winter clasic?” it’s the massive outdoor game that takes place every year on New Years Day.

The Leafs have been apart of one winter classic before, beating the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 with a shoot out win in Ann Arbor, Michigan with over 100,000 people in attendance. Reports suggest that the game would take place at BMO Field which currently seats 35,000 people but apparently they would be able to upgrade to accommodate another 10,000.

There is no official confirmation of the news just yet but with their 100th anniversary on next year’s horizon, it seems fitting that this would take place here in the #6ix.
