Toronto Tool Library Adding New Location

Consume Less and Share More

The Toronto Tool Library will be expanding with a new location at St. Clair W. later this month.

Four years ago, the Toronto Tool Library was created to encourage Torontonians to borrow and lease items that they would rarely use, instead of going out to buy new ones.

After a successful opening of the Sharing Depot on the Danforth, a new location will open as a centre where people can borrow anything from camping gear and sports equipment to even party supplies.

Not only do founders Ryan Dyment and Lawrence Alvarez encourage people to borrow instead of owning, a partnership with Toronto Repair Café will hold weekly sessions where people can get their appliances or electronics fixed, or learn how to fix it themselves.

With the repair day, their objective is to make sure that broken appliances that can be fixed are used for a much longer time instead of being thrown away, and in turn this will help reduce waste as people will consume less.

The new location will be at 830 St. Clair Ave. W. and will be open on March 24.
