Toronto Women’s March Happening this Weekend

Thousands are expected to attend march at Queen's Park

This Saturday between noon and 2 p.m., a Women’s March will be taking place at Queen’s Park in Toronto.

“Across Turtle Island (North America) we have seen a rise in acts of hate coinciding with the American election. On Saturday, January 21, join us for a march to unite our communities in Toronto and to speak out,” reads the Facebook event.

“All allies are welcome.”

Thousands of people are expected to attend this event in Toronto to march in solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington on January 21.

The Women’s March on Washington is expected to be the largest inauguration-related demonstration in U.S. history, with hundreds of thousands of people expected to attend. Supporting marches are also set to take place both around the U.S. and globally.

A map provided by the New York Times shows where supporting marches will be held around the world.
