‘Urban Myths’ Controversial MJ Episode Cancelled

Following criticism from Michael Jackson’s family, Sky Arts has announced that the Urban Myths episode “Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon” will not air.

“We have taken the decision not to broadcast ‘Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon,’ a half hour episode from the Sky Arts Urban Myths series, in light of the concerns expressed by Michael Jackson’s immediate family,” reads a statement from Sky Arts. “We set out to take a light-hearted look at reportedly true events and never intended to cause any offense.”

The episode, which featured Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson, was based on the urban myth that Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marlon Brando took a roadtrip together after 9/11.

Following the release of the trailer, MJ’s daughter Paris voiced her concerns about the show’s portrayal of her father on Twitter.

The original trailer for the episode has also been pulled from YouTube.
