If you were planning on getting a $150 Via Rail pass but haven’t purchased one yet, you’re out of luck.
In February Via Rail announced The Canada 150 Youth Pass, which officially went on sale this past Tuesday. In celebration of Canada’s 150 birthday, the company decided to offer a $150 via rail pass to anyone between the ages of 12 and 25 that would take you anywhere in Canada.
Just yesterday the company announced that the passes were sold out after a high volume of customers went on their site to buy the pass on Wednesday, leading to Via Rail’s site going down. The company had said that they were going to cap sales at 1,867, which is the year of Confederation.
Bon voyage! All the Canada 150 Youth Passes have been sold.
1,867 young travellers will discover Canada this summer.
