Florence + The Machine’s music has long combined mysticism and story telling, so it makes sense that her latest track titled “Wish You Were Here” is set to be released on Tim Burton’s upcoming Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children.
Rolling Stone reports that the track will play over the credits as a send off to the film. They also talked to Florence about the track and she explained the inspiration:
“Having been on tour, I’ve lived in a sort of magical time bubble, where the days almost blend together. It’s amazing, but it comes at a cost — a cost of leaving the people you love behind for a year or two. You kind of feel like if you could sing a song into the wind, maybe the wind could take it to them in a way that you can’t with a text or a call. You just want to send your love in a different way, in a way to somehow reach the unreachable.”
“Wish You Were Here” will be available on August 26th through digital retailers. Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children comes out on September 30th. You can listen to “Wish You Were Here” in the player above.
