This week’s Game of Thrones episode was especially upsetting for those of you who were fans of the lovable gentle giant and Bran Stark’s medieval chauffeur, Hodor, who was poetically killed off in the climax of the episode while “Holding The Door”.

The creators of the show, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have always remained unapologetic about killing off favorited characters, well establishing themselves as the best in the business at it too. Granted they threw us a bone this season with Jon Snow, Hodor’s death seemed, while however appropriate for the show’s plot, immensely heartbreaking.

In a video aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the creators displayed a sliver of remorse, offering their sincere apologies about this week’s episode. The apology however, isn’t for Hodor’s death, rather how quickly it’s “hold the Door” has become into a meme. Because how long are we going to have to live through people shouting “Hodor” every time they are about to enter an elevator? We hope it makes like a King Joffrey and goes away quickly.
