The lure of skateboarding outdoors year-round pulled TJ Rogers to California three years ago, but the Greater Toronto Area native brought it home for his latest edit. Rogers started filming his Toronto homecoming last summer in the city’s financial district, and he’s enlisted the hip hop stylings of local JUNO Award-winning artist Jazz Cartier for the soundtrack.
Rogers spoke to Redbull.com about why it was important to film in Toronto:
“I wanted to do a Toronto part because it means a lot to me to do something where I grew up,” Rogers said. “I love bringing back to my roots rather than just traveling the world and doing something new that everybody else is already doing. I’d rather just pay homage and bring back to the stuff that means most to me.”
