WATCH: The Darcys Release New Single “San Diego, 1988”

Details of new album Centrefold (2016) released

The Darcys single “Miracle” blew up this summer after the Toronto based band went through some major changes in sound and composure. Now they have returned with a second single called “San Diego, 1988” and an accompanying lyric video. The Darcys downsized their band to just Jason Couse and Wes Marskell in 2014, taking their art-rock expertise into new pop-centered territory. Their sound has seen a significant change from their last album Juno nominated album Warring.

These two singles are to be part of their upcoming album titled, Centrefold (2016). The album will be their fourth release and is set to come out on November 4th via Arts and Crafts.

Exclaim! reports that this album saw the band enlisting the help of producer Shawn Everett who has previously worked with indie heavy weights Alabama Shakes and Julian Casablancas. In a press release the band said that they had created over fifty new songs in the past couple years. This latest album is meant to explore funk and pop with inspiration found in sources such as David Bowie, and soundtracks to films like Bladerunner and Back to The Future.
