Watch: The National Perform Grateful Dead’s “Morning Dew” on Colbert

The first live performance from Day of the Dead

Bryce and Aaron Dessner of The National have been quietly producing a nearly 60 track Grateful Dead tribute album with an equal amount of high profile artists over the past four years.

Several tracks off Day of the Dead have already been released with artists with the likes of Grizzly Bear, Courtney Barnett, My Morning Jacket and The National. Today the latter, who resembled the “House Band” for several tracks on the record took to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to perform “Morning Dew”. Check it out in the player above.

The National just announced they’ll be a part of a Syrian Refugee benefit concert in Hamilton this summer, check that out here.
