Watch: This U2 performance with a Bono impersonator is the ‘Sweetest Thing’

The band pulled an impersonator of the lead singer onstage at their L.A. show on Tuesday night.

During U2’s performance of “Sweetest Thing” in Los Angeles, the band welcomed Joe Hier to the stage to sing the chorus while Bono took over piano. Hier, a Bono impersonator from Hollywood U2, took the stage dressed as the Irish frontman, complete with a similar hairstyle and rose-coloured shades. He filmed the entire experience with another fan’s borrowed iPhone.

The real Bono joked with the fan and complimented his singing voice following the unique performance. Check it out below.

U2 are currently on their Innocence and Experience Tour, which kicked off in Vancouver, BC two weeks ago. You can catch them in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre on July 6 and 7.
