Watch: Vampire Weekend and Foster The People Perform At Bernie Sanders Rally

Sanders' holds rally before Iowa caucus

Today (Feb 1st) marks an important day for the 2016 Presidential campaign, as it is the day of the monumental Iowa caucus. And whether or not you’re interested in American politics, as a music fan you’ll probably be interested in Bernie Sanders’ campaign.

At a rally held over the weekend in Iowa called “Students for Bernie,” Sanders had a number of established guests to perform and amp up the young audience. In attendance, Vampire Weekend (missing Chris Baio and recently departed Rostam Batmanglij) joined by Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth and University of Iowa’s Hawkapellas, and Mark Foster of Foster the People performed small sets.

Bernie Sanders’ campaign has made the entire rally available online, which also has Josh Hutcherson of The Hunger Games series and comedic duo, the Lucas Bros giving speeches. Killer Mike of Run The Jewels, who has been the most outspoken supporter of the campaign was supposed to be in attendance but did not make the rally.

Sanders even joined Vampire Weekend + crew onstage to sing “This Land is Your Land” after his speech.
