Wavves Bans Homophobes, Racists, Trump Supporters from Shows

"you’re either part of the solution or part of the problem”

In light of the many horrific killings of African-Americans by police officers, the Orlando massacre and the general racism problem rampant in the states, Nathan Williams of the surf-rock band Wavves felt the need to send a clear message to those perpetuating the problem.

Taking to Twitter last night, the artist posted a series of notes to his fans, banning a number of people from coming to his shows. “People are suffering every day and, the way I see it, you’re either part of the solution or part of the problem”, he writes.

That list includes, people who support the term “#AllLivesMatter”, anyone who’s “gone out of your way to defend police in America,” people who thought a rape victim “had it coming”, “if you are white and use racial slurs” and Donald Trump supporters, because “this is basically 3 or 4 of the aforementioned topics”.

Obviously this caused backlash from a number of his (former) bigoted fans online. Many of the tweets pinpointed those fans who will no longer be coming to his shows.
