The Right Sound for the Right Price

Spoon – “Hot Thoughts”

The great Spoon announced their ninth album Hot Thoughts is coming St. Patrick’s Day, and their title track teaser really sounds like they’ve ventured into new territory. Rolling Stone described it as “orchestral disco,” I’m just going to say it’s a preview of another catchy, awesome danceable Spoon record.

Mother Mother – “Letter”

While you wait for Mother Mother’s album to come out next month, let them break your heart a little with this one. Ever write someone a letter, pour your soul into an email, send a lovely text and never hear back? That’s what this one is all about.

Milky Chance – “Doing Good”

Electro-folk soul band Milky Chance’s new album also arrives Saint Patrick’s day. The German duo wrote this song to soundtrack those moments when you’re trying to escape small talk. Have it cued up for the next awkward moment.

Fast Romantics – “Why We Fight”

Locals Fast Romantics are great at writing sweet catchy tunes, here’s a new one to learn before you see them February 2nd as part of String Fling. According to the band, this is “an ode to anyone who finds themselves hungry for something that might seem out of reach.”

Arcade Fire ft. Mavis Staples – “I Give You Power”

Arcade Fire released a well-timed track the day before Trump’s inauguration, tweeting “It’s never been more important that we stick together & take care of each other.” Yes, they are joined by the best guest ever: the legendary soulful r&b powerhouse Mavis Staples. It’s anthemic, it’s gritty, chant-worthy AND all proceeds from “I’ve Got the Power” will go to the American Civil Liberties Union.
