Each week we feature five remarkable songs you need to hear on Your First Listen. In case you miss them on air, you can catch up on the weekly tracks right here. Your First Listen airs weekdays at 12:45pm, 5:45pm, and 8:45pm.

Jack Garratt – “Worry”

Looks like the UK’s got a new crooner. Falling somewhere between Sam Smith and the Weeknd, Jack Garrat’s debut Phase drops in February. You can catch him at the Garrison beginning of March. Take a listen to “Worry,” here on YFL.

Fast Romantics – “Animal”

I ran into the guys from Fast Romantics on Queen St. West the other day. They were just heading over to their studio where they’re hard at work on a new album. Here’s a little bit to get you excited; you might agree it’s got a bit of a Springsteen vibe to it.

Vance Joy – “Georgia”

Two Vance Joys shows back to back this week at Massey Hall, all I can say is that’s a lot of swooning. Here’s another track for you from his breakout debut full length, Dream Your Life Away called “Georgia.”

Junior Boys – “Over It”

Hamilton’s Junior Boys are back at it with a new album called Big Black Coat, out in February. Jeremy Greenspan of Junior Boys explains their sound best: “To my ears, it’s the sound of fabric swishing.” He’d just bought an actual big black coat, and he said it really encapsulated everything he was thinking about when he made the album, so that became the title.

Aurora – “Conqueror”

You’ll hear Norwegian singer songwriter Aurora featured on on the FIFA 2016 video game soundtrack! That’s how all the kids are finding their music nowadays. If you dig it, her debut album All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend is out in March. Here’s the big single: “Conqueror.”
