The Right Sound for the Right Price

Hollerado – “Born Yesterday”

Hollerado’s last album was a lofty 111 Songs, so you can understand why they’d need a bit of a break. But they are back with a new gem just in time for their upcoming gig at REBEL with Sam Roberts Band. Get ready for this one to get stuck in your head!

The Shins – “Name for You”

The Shins may always be synonymous with the Garden State soundtrack but they put out many tunes before and after Zach Braff had a quarter-life crisis. Their new album Heartworms will be out in March, and here’s a taste “Name for You” on YFL.

Strumbellas – “Young and Wild”

The Strumbellas will celebrate their ninth anniversary in 2017, but it really wasn’t until last year when the world took notice of the band. Their album Hope put them on the map with feel good sing-alongs and here’s another one that captures the Strumbellas’ songwriting goodness, “Young and Wild.”

The XX – “Say Something Loving”

You don’t have to wait much longer for the new The xx album, but here’s a new one to tide you over. If you’re a longtime fan you’ll notice Romy and Oliver’s harmonies and vulnerable lyrics are unchanged, but Jamie xx’s production has. This one has more of a retro vibe courtesy of a 1978 sample of the Alessi Brothers.

Russian Futurists – “Keep This Love Alive”

The Russian Futurists took some time off to… well be part of Indie88. Yes Morning Show man Matt Hart is a musician! After touring the world, becoming a dad and a morning show DJ, he’s finally made some time more lo-fi electro in his life, and here’s his latest, The Russian Futurists “Keep This Love Alive”.
