A creepy-looking asteroid that’s shaped like a human skull is set to pass by earth in November. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which monitors objects that appear to be heading towards earth, has tabbed November 11th as the date that asteroid 2015 TB145 will come within 24 million miles of the planet.
While we can take comfort in knowing that the asteroid doesn’t pose any kind of threat to earth, we should also note that the asteroid resembles quite a few album covers from over the years. Have a look at the radar image, which was generated by Puerto Rico’s Arecibo Observatory, below.
An artist’s illustration features a little more detail.
We could probably list dozens of obscure metal records, or the entire Misfits discography, but we’ll keep it simple here with 10 album covers that resemble the skull-shaped asteroid hurtling towards earth.
