Using pastel fashion, soft cinematography and quirky characters, Sex Education is relatable in the way it tackles teen issues.
 

GLOW

Based on the 1980s women’s professional wrestling unit, Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, GLOW is a badass, spandex-clad comedy-drama. Alison Brie spearheads the show as Ruth “Zoya the Destroya” Wilder, an eclectic and honest character. The later seasons stray away from the wrestling to focus on political issues, but the show keeps its outrageous and bold energy.

HBO | Season 4 Premieres April 12th

Based on Issa Rae’s web series Awkward Black Girl, the show explores social issues related to the Black female experience as the two main characters Issa (Issa Rae) and Molly (Yvonne Orji) navigate careers and relationships. A hilarious and important T.V. show, the long-awaited season 4 is out this April.

This adult animated show premiered its final season Friday, after six years of dark, yet humorous takes on the human experience through personified animals. The show has come a long way since it first premiered in 2014, but it still hits in its satirical portrayal of serious issues.

CBC Gem | Out Now

This Canadian sketch comedy series aired just last September, after the four-member Toronto sketch troupe TallBoyz II Men was picked up by CBC for their own show. The troupe explores topics like race, friendship and toxic masculinity within their sketches, making for an equally gut-busting and insightful show.

Repeatedly waking up on her 36th birthday, Diana tries to figure out what keeps her stuck in this time-loop. Although season 2 has been confirmed, there’s no word on a release date. Nonetheless, this series is definitely one to check out.

Starring Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde, this show follows the Byrde family as they relocate to the Ozarks, a small summer resort community in Missouri. Marty thinks he’s found a perfect spot as a money laundering operation for his involvement with the Mexican cartel, but soon finds out that two local families are even bigger criminals than he is. Ominous and filled with plot twists, Ozark is back with a new season this March.
 

The Haunting of Hill House

If you’re a horror fan, then this is the show for you. The show follows a family of five siblings as they’re haunted by paranormal activities in Hill House. While extremely scary, this psychological thriller has a complex and engaging plot that offers a fresh take on ghosts and haunted houses. As an anthology, the second season will have a different plot and characters, but if it’s anything like the first season, it’ll definitely be a terrifying must-see.
