New Year’s Eve only comes around once a year, so you can’t just spend it huddled in and watching Netflix when there are tons of rad events happening in Toronto that will force you to get out and celebrate 2019 in style.

This year, you can top off 2018 with exciting events like a New Year’s Eve Rooftop Silent Disco, live karaoke with Hollerado as your backing band, a Lady Gaga themed dance party, and more!

Every year, Hannah Georgas puts on a rad New Year’s Eve party with tons of exciting performances from local bands. This year’s lineup includes Hannah Georgas, Tim Baker (Hey Rosetta!), Dave Monks (Tokyo Police Club), Graham Wright (Tokyo Police Club), Tamara Lindeman (The Weather Station), The Elwins, Jeremie Albino, Ten Kills The Pack, Julie Fader, Goodnight Jasmine, and our very own Brent Albrecht (Sure)!

Las Vegastone NYE 18/19 Party

The Gladstone is going full on glitz and glamour this year with their Viva Las Vegastone party. Inpired by Sin City, they’ll be bringing the Strip to Toronto, and they’ll even be turning the Gallery into a Vegas style Chapel. The ballroom will be filled with the top decor, classic drag performances, ballroom dancing, and tons of champagne and cocktails, and the Melody Bar will be turned into a casino-inspired night of dancing.

New Year’s Eve Rooftop Silent Disco

Hemingway’s will be hosting a Silent Disco on their heated, covered rooftop patio to ring in 2019. There will be three channels playing different tunes, with one channel playing 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s throwbacks, another playing top 40 dance hits, and the last playing hip-hop and R&B. Live DJs will each be spinning different genres of music, and you can choose which one you want to party with so you can keep dancing all night long.

Hollerado will be hitting up Lee’s Palace this New Year’s Eve where they’re teaming up with Good Enough Live Karaoke to help you unleash your inner rockstar. Stand in front of your backing band, Hollerado, and sing your guts out. All you’ve got to do is pick a song and dare to step on the stage, and you could be ringing in the New Year right alongside Hollerado.

Back In The Day 90’s New Year’s Eve

Head to Back In The Day 90’s New Year’s Eve at Revival to celebrate 2019 with a tribute to old school hip hop, R&B, dance, house, reggae, and pop from the 90’s. They’ll be playing classic tracks from artists like Biggie, ‘N Sync, Aaliyah, Spice Girls, Nirvana, TLC, Beenie Man, and many more. There will even be two rooms with two different sounds, balloon decor, confetti canons, and an extended bar until 3:00 am.

Just Dance: Lady Gaga NYE Party

Attention Gaga lovers: there will be a Lady Gaga themed dance party at The Velvet Underground this New Year’s Eve all night long. They’ll be playing everything from Just Dance to A Star is Born and every little monster in between. Put on your “Poker Face” because you’re going to have a “Million Reasons” to head to this rad New Year’s Eve party.

Want to start 2019 under water? Be shore to head to Ripley’s Aquarium on New Year’s Eve to celebrate with the fish! This second annual “shell-ebration” will feature rock n’ roll by The Dreamboats, current hits spun by DJ Shamz, food stations, hors d’oeuvres by Daniel et Daniel, and full cash bars throughout the aquarium. Start 2019 with a splash!

The ’80s Versus The ’90s – NYE Video Dance Party

Whitney or Mariah? “All Star” or “Never Gonna Give You Up?” Spice Girls or Madonna? This night will be dedicated to figuring out whether the 80’s or the 90’s were better, so grab your slap bracelets or your leg warmers and get ready for a blast from the past this New Year’s Eve.

New Year’s Eve at Nathan Phillips Square

This is the go-to Toronto event, hosted annually at Nathan Phillips Square despite the chilly temperature. Bundle up and skate on Toronto’s famous outdoor ice rink as DJ Jessy Lanza plays throughout the evening, and ring in 2019 with the city’s largest firework event. Admission is free, and there will be no alcohol on site, so kids are more than welcome to come by and celebrate the New Year as well.

ROM New Year’s Eve

Ring in the New Year at the ROM and dance the night away among the dinosaurs. You can celebrate the evening with special access to two extravagant exhibitions: Zuul: Life of an Armoured Dinosaur, and Wildlife Photographer of the Year. There will also be live bands, DJs, and a toast at midnight with one complimentary drink ticket included in your ticket fee.
