This is the story about a teen who wanted free nuggs. After Carter Wilkerson tweeted to Wendy’s asking how many retweets he would need to get a year’s supply of free Wendy’s nuggets, Wendy’s replied to his tweet with “18 million,” followed by Wilkerson’s response “Consider it done.”

After tweeting a screenshot of the conversation, Wilkerson’s tweet caught the attention of many tweeters outside his friend group, including companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and United, who subsequently offered Wilkerson a free flight to any Wendy’s of his choice if he reaches the 18 million.
If you get the 18 million RTs, we'll give you a free flight to take you to any @Wendys in the world in a city we serve. Good luck! https://t.co/igxnPg1JUF

The 16-year-old’s tweet gained one million retweets in two days.

In the midst of the action, Wendy’s promised Wilkerson the year’s supply at 18 million retweets, along with a 100K donation to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption in his name. Although Wilkerson has yet to reach the proposed 18 million, Wendy’s offered the year’s supply of nuggets and 100K donation after his tweet recently beat Ellen DeGeneres’ Oscar selfie record for the most retweets. His tweet currently stands at 3,536,231 retweets, holding the record for the most retweets of all time.
.@carterjwm is now the most retweeted tweet of all-time. That’s good for the nuggets, and $100k to @DTFA. Consider it done. #nuggsforcarter pic.twitter.com/k6uhsJiP4E
