5 Bands Reuniting in 2014

Five reunions to get excited about this year

Outkast announced they will reunite to play Coachella. Here are 5 bands getting back together this year that you should get excited about.

Of course Outkast – Queen Latifah managed them at one point and let it slip in an interview they are also working on a new record.

Neutral Milk Hotel – It’s been a slow burn of a reunion for this band with Jeff Mangum starting to play some shows back in 2010. Things snowballed with a Coachella date and a few more shows until 2013 when they announced they will do a reunion tour with their original In the Aeroplane Over the Sea lineup. They play Kool Haus on both Sunday and Monday.

DFA 1979 – They announced they were making new a record and then they played The Danforth Music Hall on Boxing Day. That’s just about all we know at the moment. Sebastien Grainger said about 3 months ago, “It’ll be done when it’s done, it could be 3 weeks, it could be 3 months.”

Gnarles Barkley – We haven’t heard anything new from them since 2009! So this isn’t much of a reunion but Cee Lo Green hinted him and Danger Mouse could be getting together to record new stuff this year.

Foo Fighters – Their last album was in 2011 and they said they were going on a hiatus. There’s been no mention on when this new record will come out this year; Dave Grohl said if he makes a release date he’ll actually have to make that deadline.
