Five Things To Do This Weekend in Toronto

Ah, the weekend – how thankful we are that it’s finally here. If you’re wondering what to do, you can count on us to have you covered! We’ve made a list of things you can do to keep occupied, including roaming the city in green with a beer in your hand this Saturday… For various reasons… Mostly because it’s St. Patricks day.

Catch A Show!

The incredible Beth Ditto will be performing at The MOD Club this Saturday, March 17th. Tickets can be purchased here.

Check Out Comicon!

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is hosting Comicon this weekend, March 16th to March 18th! Dress in your best and geek out over your favourite characters. If that isn’t enough for you, The Velvet Underground will be hosting an official ’90s after party on Friday, March 16th with DJ Lazarus.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

Whether you checked out the St. Patty’s day parade or not, you still haven’t missed out on the festivities. This year the celebration lands on Saturday! Hooray! Throw on your finest green attire, make sure you’ve got a beer in hand (or two) and you’re ready to go! Grab your friends and roam Toronto, as bars all over the city are ready for you to celebrate with them –

Steam Whistle Brewing will be hosting their annual party from 2 pm until 2 am,
and Rebel is hosting a Guinness SPD celebration from 11:30 am to 9 pm!

Check out Yoko Ono’s ‘THE RIVERBED’!

Sad you haven’t had the chance to get your hands on a pair of tickets to Yayoi Kusama’s “Infinity Mirrors”? No need to fret! While we encourage you to keep trying if you haven’t been already, there are other incredible exhibits to see, like Yoko Ono: THE RIVERBED at the Gardiner Museum.

You may recognize the Japanese multimedia artist and peace activist, Yoko Ono, who was once married to John Lennon. Her exhibit “The Riverbed” is on now until June 3rd, from 10 am to 6 pm.

Go Skating!

The season is almost over, and this may be your last chance, so make the trip to a rink when you can! You can rent skates at Nathan Philips Square from 10 am to 10 pm up until March 19th.
