1. DAYTIME SHOOTING
Two suspects are still on the loose after a daytime shooting near Yonge and Eglinton. Police say both suspects are black and were wearing construction vests. A man in his 20’s was shot to death while sitting in an SUV in an alley near Soudan Avenue at 3pm. Mayor John Tory will speak to the media today about the latest bout of violence in the city.

2. BIKE LANE BLITZ
Almost 300 tickets were handed out during the bike lane blitz. If you think you are off the hook now that the blitz is over, think again. Since January 2014 over 17,000 tickets have been issued to people who carelessly park in bike lanes.

3. GOVERNMENT VS TICKET SCALPERS
Don’t mess with Canada’s favourite band. The Attorney General is officially looking at the ticketing industry following The Tragically Hip Tour ticket scandal. She hopes the law can protect consumers from scalping bots and cap the cost of resales.

4. ONTARIO GENDER EQUALITY PROMISE
Premier Kathleen Wynne is making good on a gender equality promise. The Ontario government has set a target to have women fill at least 40% of the jobs on every provincial board and agency by 2019.

5. INDOOR FISHING
If you want to go fishing but cant make the commitment to get out of town, indoor fishing might be for you. The Gone Fishin’ event is back on Saturday at the Scadding Court Community Centre. They will drain all the chlorine and fill the pool with tap water and rainbow trout.
