A drive-in film, comedy, and music series is coming to Ontario Place

Toronto Shines will feature films, music, and comedy through to October

As Torontonians continue to practice social distancing, drive-in theatres are beginning to pop up across the city. First, Rebel announced a new drive-in theatre, and now Ontario Place is opening one up this week as well.

Toronto Shines will be arriving at Ontario Place on July 17th, and it will continue through October, presenting both films and live entertainment in a family-friendly setting.

The event is being led by music producer Farley Flex and entertainment expert Jeffrey Latimer, and it will feature live DJ sets, stand-up comedy, musical acts, and full-length feature films every night. There will also be food trucks on site, and carhops on roller blades will deliver your order directly to your car.

Entrance will be at the Ontario Place Drive-In on the East Commons, and it will boast 185 physically distanced car spaces. The gates will open at 6:00 p.m., live performances will begin at 7:30 p.m., and back-to-back feature films will start at 9:00 p.m.

You’ll be able to access audio from the live performances and films through a local FM radio station or on your cell phone.
