A new film about Creation Records, the label who supported My Bloody Valentine, Oasis, Slowdive, and more, is in the works, and the Trainspotting team is behind it.
Danny Boyle is set to executive produce Creation Stories, with Irvine Welsh and Dean Cavanagh penning the script, according to Deadline. Nick Moran (Telstar: The Story of Joe Meek, The Kid) is set to direct the film, which will be based around founder Alan McGee’s memoir, The Creation Records Story: Riots, Raves and Running a Label.
Rupert Everett of My Best Friend’s Wedding, Suki Waterhouse of Assassination Nation, and Jason Fleming of Snatch will star in the movie, with Ewen Bremner, who played Spud in Trainspotting, taking on the role of McGee.
“I’ve been lucky to work with both Danny and Nick over the years and to have the two of them together on this project, along with Ewen, feels like a lottery win,” Welsh explained of Creation Stories. Shooting for the forthcoming flick is set to start in London, England next month.
