Rob Zombie has shared a teaser trailer for his new The Munsters reboot.
Zombie’s upcoming remake of the beloved 1960s television sitcom will see the show headed to the big screen in “living colour.” Zombie is both writing and directing the forthcoming film.
The teaser opens with a black-and-white shot of the Munsters’ mansion before teasing the newly casted version of the famous characters. In the clip, Herman Munster is now played by Jeff Daniel Phillips. He crashes through a closed door before being followed by his vampire wife Lily, played by Sheri Moon Zombie. Her father Grandpa, played by Daniel Roebuck, is the last character to walk through.

The clip eventually shifts from black-and-white to colour, as Grandpa asks the other characters, “Well, now what?”
In addition to Phillips, Zombie, and Roebuck, the cast is rounded out by Jorge Garcia, Richard Break, Catherine Schell, Sylvester McCoy, and Cassandra Petersen.
“I wanted to cast people that had worked together a lot,” Zombie told Entertainment Weekly of his casting for The Munsters. “I couldn’t risk getting on set in Budapest and going, my leads aren’t getting along, they have no chemistry. So that’s why I chose the cast I chose. Jeff Daniel Phillips and Sheri Moon Zombie and Daniel Roebucl, they work together a lot and I knew they would just fall right into it.”
The Munsters is set for release some time in 2022, but they’ve yet to announce an official release date.
