A Charlie and the Chocolate Factory prequel is in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which is set for release on March 17th, 2023, will be an origin story for Roald Dahl’s character Willy Wonka. Helmed by Harry Potter producer David Heyman and directed by Paul King, Wonka will be about “a young Willy Wonka and his adventures prior to opening the world’s most famous chocolate factory.”
According to Collider, both Tom Holland and Timothée Chalamet are being eyed for the titular role.
