Digital Sales and Partnerships Manager

Reporting to the General Sales Manager and Director of Digital Media, the successful candidate is responsible for Digital sales, client campaign strategy, and publishing initiatives with the goal of growing revenue for the station.

The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of digital media, advertising, branded content, and publishing. The candidate should have demonstrated success building and managing digital and broadcast campaigns that map against distinct business goals with a keen understanding of tracking results and optimizing tactics in real-time.

The candidate should also have a keen understanding of the digital media landscape in Canada and have experience selling digital media.

The candidate will be an excellent project manager with experience managing campaigns with multiple stakeholders, assets, and timelines to ensure all parties are producing key elements on time and the client goals are managed and met.

    Duties/Skills include:

  • Deep knowledge digital advertising including IAB banner sizes, video pre-roll, social media paid advertising, Google AdWords and Adsense, Email Marketing, Google Analytics, and SEO/SEM.
  • Manage Ad Inventory/operations and scheduling
  • Liaise with the sales department to ensure quality control over digital campaigns
  • Facilitate native advertising and sponsored content initiatives
  • Coordinate web-based projects including new product development to ensure timelines and deliverables are met
  • Bonus: the ability to write content and assist with video production

    General Sales Manager

    Indie 88 is in search of a General Sales Manager to lead our team of radio and digital media account executives.

    We are an independent broadcasting company. We know that being an independent operator in Toronto is challenging and competitive, which is why we’re always learning, innovating, and adapting to the changing landscape. We still believe radio is fun, and that the power of radio and digital media comes from our people, which is why we’re looking for someone who understands how to bring out the best in a team. We are looking for a hands-on coach who will lead by example to inspire our local account executives to succeed as a team.

    Key Responsibilities
    Strategy Development & Execution:

  • Develop and implement a sales plan that will meet station’s revenue goals.
  • Work with sales account managers, programming, promotions, and digital departments to develop creative solutions tailored to the clients’ needs.
  • Develop pricing strategies and maintain the integrity of the rate card.
  • Emphasize customer-service and consultative selling.
  • Assist account executives with identifying leads and prospecting strategies.
  • Attend high profile account presentations, provide coaching and leadership to the sales account executives.
  • Develop and build relationships with clients by providing quality customer service.
  •  

    Team Building & Leadership:

  • Identify, recruit, train, coach, manage and develop high-performance sales talent.
  • Build a successful team to ensure continued growth.
  • Maintain an ongoing recruitment effort to ensure a top quality team, always having a bench of 3 or more candidates.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with account managers, evaluate pending business for conversion, and note in CRM system.
  • Lead Sales staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Lead by example.

    Management

  • Set goals and quarterly budgets for all members of your team.
  • Monitor your team’s performance with consistent positive reinforcement.
  • Manage administrative functions connected with forecasting revenue, rate, pricing and order approvals.
  • Manage inventory and reporting in Marketron.
  • Ensure customer relationships are managed appropriately at the local-direct, agency, and national rep shop level.
  • Manage the relationship with the National sales team ensuring that all requests for proposal are responded to in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Lead communication with other departments to assure quality service when placing orders and arranging promotions
  •  
    You will also possess excellent writing and presentation skills and have the ability to ‘wow’ clients.

    Digital Media Intern

    Indie88 is searching for a intern to join the Digital Media Team. You are preferably a student in program with a focus on digital media and communications. You are looking for an internship that fulfills your program requirements. You have exceptional research and writing skills and a strong interest and aptitude for social media. You are a music fan who knows many of the artists Indie88 plays and regularly uses digital tools to discover and share music. You have some experience with the following Adobe Photoshop, WordPress, digital photography, and blogging.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research and curate relevant music news for publication on Indie88 digital channels
    • Draft concert listings, music news, and lifestyle articles for Indie88 digital channels
    • Edit photos for use on Indie88 digital channels
    • Draft and schedule social media posts
    • Comfortable with WordPress publishing
    • Assist with operation of camera equipment for video and photo shoots
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

    Promotions Intern

    Indie88 is searching for an intern to join the Promotions Team. You are preferably a student in program with a focus on Radio Broadcasting, Marketing, or Public Relations. You are looking for an internship that fulfills your program requirements. You have a key interest in learning the ins and outs of Radio Promotions from contesting, on-site event coordination and customer service. You are a music fan who knows many of the artists Indie88 plays and contests and promotions we have completed in the past. You also have experience with Microsoft Office, and can work well on a team as well with little supervision.

    Responsibilities:
    • Maintain great relationships with our listeners and winners on Indie88 and Indie88.com by awarding prizes and arranging pick up
    • Draft concert listings, event postings, and promotional social media copy
    • Comfortable with WordPress publishing
    • Basic general office duties such as answering phones, filing and housekeeping

    Street Team Interns – Part Time

    Indie88 is searching for our next energetic Street Team Interns to join our crew. Do you have an outgoing, energetic and approachable personality? Do you love engaging with the public and working with a fantastic team? Reporting to the Promotions Manager & Street Team Leaders, you’ll be responsible for representing the station all over town while creating fun, memorable experiences for our listeners. You must thrive on being the centre of attention and never be afraid to have too much fun and/or make a fool of yourself!

    Responsibilities:
    • Represent Indie88 all over the GTA, and execute station appearances on the street, at events, concerts, festivals, client locations, movie premieres, etc.
    • Engage with listeners and make them remember you. You’re approachable and you love talking to strangers!
    • Promote the station and brand with a big smile! Be outgoing, enthusiastic and have fun!
    • Be able to shine in front of a crowd and be comfortable on a microphone.
    • Responsible, reliable and punctual. Always represent the station in a professional manner.
    • Set up and tear down equipment and signage.

    Qualifications:
    • Currently enrolled in a Radio Broadcast / Media / Marketing / PR Program in College or University
    • Must have a flexible schedule and be available weekends/evenings/holidays.
    • Must be 19 years of age or older.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Must thrive in a fast paced, team environment.
    • Able to lift and carry equipment as required.

    Hours: Approximately 10-20 hours per month.
