The first trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson‘s forthcoming movie Licorice Pizza is here.
The movie is set to star HAIM’s Alana Haim as Alana Kane and Cooper Hoffman as Gary Valentine. Alongside the pair, the cast boasts big names like Sean Penn, Bradley Cooper, Maya Rudolph, Tom Waits, and Benny Safdie. The forthcoming flick is a coming-of-age movie set in the 70s. Today’s trailer is soundtracked by David Bowie’s “Life On Mars.”
“Licorice Pizza is the story of Alana Kane and Gary Valentine growing up, running around and falling in love in the San Fernando Valley, 1973,” the film’s website says.

The trailer for Licorice Pizza doesn’t reveal much about the plot yet. It does mark Alana Haim’s non-music-video acting debut, aside from the Documentary Now! and
Licorice Pizza is out on November 26th in limited release and December 25th nationwide.
Back in August of 2020, Alana Haim was spotted in some pictures on set of the flick. At the time, it had just started production in Los Angeles. The photos see Alana Haim driving a truck sitting next to Bradley Cooper and another unidentified actor.
Anderson and HAIM have collaborated for a long time. In fact, Anderson has directed six videos for the band, including “Summer Girl,” “Hallelujah,” and “Now I’m In It.” He also photographed the cover for their 2020 album, Women in Music, Pt. III.
