Alexisonfire have shared another new single, “Reverse the Curse.”

The blistering new track comes from Alexisonfire’s first new album in 13 years, Otherness, out June 24th. On “Reverse The Curse,” the rapid track boasts a central riff that dates back to 2006. In fact, vocalist George Pettit explained to Heavy Consequence that it was on the original demo of 2009’s “Young Cardinal.”
“Some riffs stick around for a while until they make sense,” Pettit explains of the “Reverse the Curse” riff. “This song has existed in one form or another since Crisis. There was even a version that we used as the original ‘Young Cardinals’ but that one wasn’t meant to be. It found its way to creation during our COVID rehearsals and I’m glad it’s finally coming to light.”

The forthcoming 10-track album was produced by Alexisonfire and mixed by Jonah Falco (Fucked Up, Career Suicide).
“A continuous thread through the fabric of Alexisonfire is the state of otherness,” the album’s mission statement explains. “We attract the type of individuals that have all felt the sensation of being strange or unique. Perceived or otherwise, otherness has followed us through childhood, adolescence, and into our adult lives. It drives our tastes and proclivities. It bonds us with ourselves and others. And make no mistake, even at our most domestic and mundane moments, we are true outliers.”
In addition to “Reverse the Curse,” Otherness features the previously released “Sweet Dreams Of Otherness.”
