Synthpunk powerhouse Crystal Castles is no more. Singer Alice Glass announced her official departure from the Toronto twosome on Twitter – see her tweets below.
Crystal Castles were known for their unmatched electronic arrangements and vigorous, near-anarchic live shows. The band played their last show in October of last year. Their debut self-titled album came in at #39 on NME’s Top 100 Greatest Albums of the Decade.
By the tone of her tweets, Glass seems determined to keep making music as a solo artist.
I am leaving Crystal Castles.

For a multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within CC.

Although this is the end of the band, I hope my fans will embrace me as a solo artist in the same way they have embraced Crystal Castles.
