Alt-J return with video for new single ‘U&ME,’ detail forthcoming album ‘The Dream’

Alt-J have announced their fourth album, The Dream, which is out on February 11th. As part of the announcement, they’ve shared a video for their new single “U&ME.”

The track marks the band’s “most honest song to date,” according to a release. The new single came out of Alt-J soundchecks. Joe Newman says that the song then “gathered momentum on its own.” The accompanying Prosper Unger-Hamilton-directed music video comes packed with gritty footage of Alt-J performances, fireworks, and skateboarding.

“It’s about being at a festival with your best friends, having a good time, togetherness, and the feeling in life that nothing could be any better than it is right now,” Alt-J member Gus explains of “U&ME.”

Watch the video for “U&ME” below.

The new Alt-J record, The Dream, balances beauty and darkness. Both are “often seamlessly merging on the same track, a purposeful choice that pays dividends across the record.”

The record will also boast some “true-crime inspired stories and tales of Hollywood and the Chateau Marmont.” Pre-order The Dream here.
