Toronto band Altered by Mom has recently released a new music video about love and the awkward nature of dating, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
“Joanne,” was created as part of a Bunz trade with another band. Directed by Carlos Coronado, the video was inspired by a dating video that frontman Devon Lougheed discovered in his Aunt’s basement. It features wacky lo-fi clips of the band’s members embodying different characters and costumes, which compliments the charming, laid-back nature of the song.
Altered by Mom described the video as being “about finding love in the dark ages before Tindr or Grindr.”
Hopefully we can all feel inspired by “Joanne” as we head into a month of Hallmark cards, candy hearts, and endless V-day Instagram posts. Coincidentally, Altered by Mom will also be playing a free show on Valentine’s Day at the Horseshoe.
