Andy Shauf has announced his new album Wilds with a video for a track from the record, “Jaywalker.”
Wilds is a surprise album that’ll be out this digitally this Friday, September 24th and physically on November 19th via Arts & Crafts. To preview the collection, Shauf has shared a video for “Jaywalker.” Today’s ballad serves as the follow-up to the recently released “Spanish On The Beach.”
“Jaywalker” tells the tale of someone who doesn’t look where he’s going while crossing the street. On a deeper level, Shauf looks at the idea of a lost soul making their way through life.

The new album really puts Andy Shauf’s creative process on display. It collects nine songs out of about fifty tracks that Shauf recorded during the sessions for 2020’s The Neon Skyline. You can hear the raw, revealing sounds of the album in “Jaywalker.”
Wilds is almost like a companion piece to The Neon Skyline, as Shauf revisits the tale of the same doomed lovers from that record. Shauf plays all of the instruments on the album, and recorded it all to “a little tape machine” in his Toronto studio. The album sees Shauf honing his artistic skills to create a meticulous, memory-like narrative.
