Canadian supergroup Anyway Gang have shared their new single, “Reckless Reckless.” The new tune comes on the heels of the announcement of their sophomore album, Still Anyways, out May 6th via Royal Mountain Records.
The track is an earworm that blends Tokyo Police Club’s Dave Monks, Sloan’s Chris Murphy, Hollerado’s Menno Versteeg, and Sam Roberts’ signature sounds perfectly. The accompanying video is a nostalgic clip with home footage documenting each of the four artists’ careers.
“This song is a collection of those small leftover memories that transport you back to another world where the grass is greener and the glasses are rose tinted,” Anyway Gang explain. “I think it was easy for the four of us to all relate too since so much of being in a band is an extension of your teenage dreams. There is a lot of common experience there and it was fun picking references and lyrics together that told a story we all loved. Our respective audiences have been on a journey with us and we wanted to relive some of those sweet nostalgic moments with them. And rip a few guitar solos while we’re at it!”

“Well it’s now 2022, and the band is back with some new tunes,” a press release explains. “This time they even added a 4th chord to some of the songs, and worked in a real studio.”
The forthcoming album serves as the follow-up to their self-titled debut. In addition to “Reckless Reckless,” Still Anyways features previously released singles “Out Of Nowhere” and “Alternate View.”
