Indie88 Premiere: Towers and Trees Share New Single ‘Head Down / Heart Up’

Victoria, British Columbia-based indie rockers Towers and Trees are less than a year removed from an indefinite hiatus, brought on by “babies, cross-country moves and career changes.” The band reunited and Indie88 is pleased to premiere their new single, “Head Down / Heart Up,” which was produced by Ryan Worsley (Dear Rouge, Said The Whale) in Vancouver.

“First and foremost ‘HDHU’ is a message I need to hear myself, and constantly,” the band told Indie88. “This reminder to turn the volume knob in your head down and let your heart take the wheel because it can and will steer you out of the fog. I hope in these noisy, uncertain times that’s a message that a lot of people can find comfort in.”

“‘HDHU’ started as a song I needed to hear myself more than anything. That phrase became a mantra of sorts during a time of jarring change and uncertainty,” the band said.

Towers and Trees recorded “Head Down / Heart” up and two other new songs in the session with Worsley, so stay tuned for new music. You can also catch Towers and Trees live in Toronto during Canadian Music Week.
