The name Spencer Elden probably wont ring a bell to anyone who isn’t familiar with the local street art scene in Southern California – but it’s very likely that you’ve seen his face a few times in the past two and a half decades.
In 1991, when Elden was just a few months old, his parents agreed to let their baby take part in a photoshoot for the second album of “an up-and-coming” band called Nirvana. The album, Nevermind, went on to sell around 30 million copies worldwide.
Elden, now a fully grown adult recreated the infamous cover with photographer John Chapple, which was covered in the New York Post.
This isn’t the first time Elden decided to recreate the album cover. 10 years ago he posed in the same fashion for the album’s 15th anniversary. Check out the recreation below.
