When Banksy arrived in Toronto seven years ago, he left his mark behind with 7 original pieces of artwork. The majority of them were immediately painted over as they were thought to be vandalism.
One piece featuring a security guard holding a muzzled pink balloon dog was saved and restored after being vandalized (see above). A real estate developer, Jared Menkes, bought the building with the Banksy art from the provincial government a year later and ordered demolition crews to salvage the art.
The restored artwork was installed on the second floor of the PATH walkway in a new 35-storey condo, office and retail building, according to The Globe And Mail.
