The caretaker at Bridge Farm Primary School in Bristol was the first to see Banksy’s thank you gesture pictured below:
The new mural arrived after English elementary school students were tasked with voting on names for their school’s buildings. Among the new names, students landed on “Cabot,” (after famous explorer John Cabot), “Blackbeard” and “Banksy” after the elusive, influential artist.

Banksy was even kind enough to leave a note:
“Thanks for your letter and naming a house after me. Please have a picture, and if you don’t like it, feel free to add stuff. I’m sure the teachers won’t mind. Remember, it’s always easier to get forgiveness than permission. Much love, Banksy.”

Little is known about the artist; with his identity still unknown, he leaves his thought provoking work across England’s walls while the UK sleeps. It was nice to see Bansky’s lighter side as his art tends to lean towards the political.
