International street artist Banksy is coming to Hamilton this summer, bringing a piece of art with him.
Banksy will be bringing his infamous Rat painting to Hamilton to be displayed June 15th and 16th. According to his website, the Haight Street Rat as it’s formally called, originally appeared about Haight Street in San Francisco in 2010.
The whopping 12-foot rat has been on tour, making stops around the world including Miami and Los Angeles, and will be stopping in Hamilton for the Liquid Arts Festival this summer.
In a press release, Collective Arts Brewing co-founder said the following in a statement:
“The nature of street art makes it rare for a piece to be able to travel. When this opportunity came up to bring one of our favourite art forms, especially a Banksy, to Hamilton, we jumped on it. It’s a unique opportunity for fans of Banksy, and they won’t have to travel too far to see his work in person. We’re really excited to have it on display at the Liquid Art Festival.“
Liquid Arts Festival is a two day “creative collision of beer, art & music,” with over 50 brewers around the world showcasing their brews. Tickets are available on Collective Arts’ website.
