Basement Revue by Broken Social Scene’s Jason Collett returns for new series in December

A half-music, half-literary variety show

Half-music, half-literary variety show The Basement Revue is set to return for a new series this December.

Over the past twelve years the show, which is curated by singer/songwriter and Broken Social Scene member Jason Collett, has featured exciting collaborations like Feist and Michael Ondaatje, or Margaret Atwood and the Sadies. The Basement Revue presents the top emerging and established Canadian literary and musical talent in a series of curated artistic evenings.

As they’ve done every year, the Basement Revue’s performers are a surprise to the audience each night, and they’re only revealed as the artists step on stage. In the past, the shows have featured impressive writers and musicians like Anne Waldman, Gord Downie, Rufus Wainwright, Sheila Heti, Bahamas, and Broken Social Scene.

The event will take place on December 4th, 13th, 20th, and 27th, and you can buy tickets here.
