BBC’s Daft Punk documentary to air this month

Last June, it was announced that Daft Punk would star in a made-for-TV documentary through BBC France. A year later Daft Punk Unchained will premiere on June 24 via French TV station Canal+.

Directed by Herve Martin Delpierre and co-written by Marina Rozenman, the documentary will feature rare archive footage as well as exclusive interviews of their closest collaborators. Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, Giorgia Moroder, and more are confirmed for the documentary.

A press release for the film says:

“Daft Punk Unchained is the first film about the pop culture phenomenon that is Daft Punk… This documentary explores this unprecedented cultural revolution revealing a duo of artists on a permanent quest for creativity, independence and freedom. Between fiction and reality, magic and secret, future and reinvention, theatricality and humility, The Robots have built a unique world. The film combines rare archive footage as well as exclusive interviews with their closest collaborators.”
