Happy new music Friday. It’s been a generous week for new records, with fresh pressings from the likes of The Dirty Nil, Dilly Dally, and Bob Moses to take into the weekend. We’ve also seen our share of new singles from indie heavyweights Kurt Vile, The 1975, Fucked Up, ODESZA, and others.

Here’s a sampling of new cuts to help you fend off the September heatwave this weekend.

Kurt Vile – “Bassackwards”

Kurt Vile has officially announced his follow-up to 2015’s b’lieve i’m goin down… The singer-songwriter also shared a new single, “Bassackwards,” to go with the announcement of Bottle It In, which arrives on October 12 via Matador Records.

Dan Mangan – “Just Fear”

Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Dan Mangan has announced plans to release his new record, More Or Less, on November 2 via Arts & Crafts. Mangan, whose track “Troubled Mind” is a sneaky song of the summer candidate, also unveiled a new single titled “Just Fear.”

FIDLAR – “Too Real”

Those of us who were blessed with the opportunity to catch FIDLAR live at the Phoenix Concert Theatre earlier this week were treated to loads of new material from the Los Angeles-based four-piece. The band has rolled out another new track with a proper release, sharing a fresh video for “Too Real” on Friday.

The 1975 – “Sincerity Is Scary”

Earlier this week, The 1975 unveiled details on their forthcoming record A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, which will be released on November 30. The Manchester-bred four-piece have shared another new song ahead of the arrival of their 15-track album.

Olivia & The Creepy Crawlies – “Room To Grow”

London, Ontario-born indie outfit Olivia & The Creepy Crawlies are set to release their new full-length album, Room to Grow, on October 4. The band unveiled its new video for the title track from the forthcoming record earlier this week.

ODESZA – “Loyal”

The Bellingham, Washington-bred group have released “Loyal,” a cult favourite that most fans will recognize from their incredible live sets.

Rostam – “In A River”

Rostam Batmanglij has unveiled a new song, “In A River.” The former Vampire Weekend songwriter has been performing the song live for some time now, and he’s finally put it to tape.

Fucked Up – “House of Keys”

Toronto’s Fucked Up are set to release their new full-length studio record, Dose Your Dreams, on October 5 via Arts & Crafts/Merge Records. The band recently rolled out singles “Raise Your Voice Joyce” and “Normal People,” and today they’ve followed-up with another new track, “House Of Keys.”
