Best New Indie: 7 Songs You Need To Discover This Week

If we’re being honest, it’s getting a little worrisome that a it’s couple weeks into spring and we still haven’t seen any evidence of warm weather.

So while we wait indoors by the fireplace like it’s the dead of winter, we’ll just be cozying up to these new tunes waiting. Before you start scrolling, be sure to check out indie-rock veterans Sloan in the Stiegl Hidden Studio, and west-coast rockers Yukon Blonde’s Collective Arts Black Box Session.

Here are the best new indie songs of the week:
 

Florence + The Machine – “Sky Full Of Song”

Monumental British group Florence + The Machine marked their return with a brand new track “Sky Full Of Song”, their first since 2016’s “Wish That You Were Here”.
 

CHVRCHES – “Miracle”

CHVRCHES took a step further into pop territory with a fourth track from their forthcoming album Love Is Dead, sharing “Miracle”.
 

Cherry Glazerr – “Juicy Socks”

Los Angeles-based psychadelic/punk group Cherry Glazerr took a page out of the 90s indie rock era, sharing a new track “Juicy Socks”.
 

Chastity – “Children”

Whitby, Ontario’s Chastity have announced their debut album, Death Lust, will arrive on July 13 via Captured Tracks & Royal Mountain. The band have shared the first single “Children.” Chasity will be performing a special show in a barn in Whitby, that will also feature a set from METZ, with all proceeds going to Youth Mental Health. The show can be live streamed via the Captured Tracks Facebook page at 9:00pm EST.

 

The Rubens – “Never Ever (Feat. Sarah)”

Australian outfit The Rubens are hard at work putting the finishing touches on their third album. This week they took time to share a taste of what’s to come, collaborating with Grammy-nominated songwriter Sarah Aarons in a new track “Never Ever”.
 

Michael Rault – “Dream Song”

Toronto artist Michael Rault detailed his next EP It’s a New Day Tonight this week, sharing “Dream Song” from the forthcoming work.
 

Black Pistol Fire – “Cry Wolf”

Blues rock duo Black Pistol Fire share a fuzzed-out new track “Cry Wolf” this week; a must-listen for any Black Keys fans out there.
