With Halloween around the corner, most of us are getting out spooky playlists ready for heavy rotation. Firstly, look no further than our list of 100 most Halloween-friendly tracks, secondly, why not sprinkle some new material in the mix.

Here are our picks of the best new indie tracks of the week:
 

Leif Vollebekk – “Tallahassee”

Leif Vollebekk’s incredible 2017 album Twin Solitude wasn’t just a favourite for many of us here at Indie88, but was met with critical acclaim, making the short list for the Polaris Music Prize. It appears as if the indie crooner is already back at it with more music, sharing “Tallahassee” today.

 

First Aid Kit – “Postcard”

Alt-country indie duo First Aid Kit recently announced a North American tour, and this week shared plans for a new album Ruins coming early January of next year. They shared the first taste from it, “Postcard” today. Listen above.
 

Bahamas – “No Wrong”

After a long wait, Canadian artist Afie Jurvanen aka Bahamas shared a gorgeous new tune “No Wrong”, announcing with it his next album Earthtones, coming early 2018.
 

Franz Ferdinand – “Always Ascending”

Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand have announced plans to release a new record, Always Ascending, on Friday February 9th, 2018 via Domino Records. The band shared the forthcoming album’s title track on Wednesday.

 

Dear Rouge – “Boys & Blondes”

Indie power pop group Dear Rouge have returned from some time off to share their latest heavy single “Boys & Blondes”. Listen above.
 

Rhye – “Taste”

Rhye have returned with another new single ahead of the release of their sophomore record in early 2018. The band unveiled “Taste” Friday morning, as well as details on an extensive 2018 tour.

 

Caveboy – “New Touch”

Hot off their acceptance into the Allan Slaight Juno Master Class, Montreal’s Caveboy shared a dynamic new single “New Touch”. Keep your eyes posted for this name, you’re sure to start seeing it more in the future.
 

PONY – “Small Things”

Toronto glitter punk group PONY have emerged with a new EP today, Do You via Buzz Records. Take a listen to the lead single from it, here’s “Small Things”.
 

Porches – “Find Me”

New York-based artist Porches has announced his new album, The House. This will be the third full album from Porches, and it’s dropping on January 19th. Listen to Porches latest single from the forthcoming album, “Find Me” above.
