Bill Murray decided once again this weekend to relive Groundhog Day.
Based on the 1993 film, the musical follows an arrogant weather forecaster who is forced to relive Groundhog day over and over again.
The 66 year old actor and internet phenomenon showed up to a musical that was nominated for seven Tony Awards this year. Lucky for us, seemingly his entire evening was live-tweeted by a New York Times reporter.
I am about to cover the coolest thing ever and I can't wait to tell you all about it in a couple hours. Just trust me, it's awesome.

I am here at the August Wilson Theatre, where Bill Murray is about to watch the Groundhog Day musical for the first time. Dead serious.

According to Sopan Deb, Murray was met with applause upon entering the theater, and later cried during the bows. See the full story below:
Picture here with Danny Rubin and Brian Doyle-Murray. Also in the cast. pic.twitter.com/clThU3piQR

Murray has gone mostly unnoticed inside. Just stepped on our photog's shoes. (Not in a jerky way. But because he could.)

Murray just got a brief round of applause.

It's intermission. Murray let out a fist pump during the show when Phil Connors meets Ned Ryerson for the first time.

For some reason, Murray decided to needlessly climb over a woman in a mostly empty row to head to the bar during intermission. Classic.

Now taking selfies and sipping a beer in the lobby. Murray just gave two children junior mints.

The bows are happening. Murray is sobbing from what I can tell. I'm sitting right behind him.

Bill now being mobbed by fans in the theater. He just advised an 11 year old girl on crutches: "Do the rehab."

Bill Murray being VERY gracious with his time. Staying well after to take pictures with everyone.

LOL. Bill Murray just now to a woman from Ukraine: "All the cute girls are from Kiev."
— Sopan Deb (@SopanDeb) August 9, 2017
Murray in group shot with cast: "Its beautiful what you're doing." Earlier: "I have notes!"

Murray is giving an amazing speech to the cast right now. I will transcribe later.
— Sopan Deb (@SopanDeb) August 9, 2017
Literally Murray's speech is talking about the Panama Canal. I wish you were all here.

Just interviewed Murray. Got emotional during interview. Said Harold Ramis would've been flabbergasted by the musical.

I wish it really was Groundhogs Day so I can do this again tomorrow night.
