Billie Eilish has announced a new concert film to accompany her forthcoming sophomore album, Happier Than Ever. The movie will premiere on Disney+ on Friday, September 3rd. Today, Eilish has shared a trailer for the concert film.
Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles was co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Patrick Osborne and shot at the Hollywood Bowl. The film will star Eilish and and her brother/collaborator Finneas, the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. All of them were conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.
“A self-reflection about growth,” Eilish says in the intense teaser as the camera zooms in on her eye. “I definitely romanticize Los Angeles. We all have these idealized versions of ourselves in our head. I’ve never done anything like this.”

“Disney is incredibly iconic, so to collaborate on something like this is a huge honor,” Eilish says. “To be able to present my album in this way and dedicate it to the city that I love and grew up in is so exciting to me. I hope you love it.”
Earlier this year on Colbert, Eilish revealed that, “I don’t think I would’ve made the same album, or even the album at all if it weren’t for COVID. That doesn’t mean it’s about COVID at all, it’s just that, when things are different in your life, you’re different. That’s just how it is. So, I have to thank COVID for that, and that’s about it.”
Happier Than Ever is out next Friday, July 30th.
